Marx's Brain Death
Marx was born in 1818. Exactly , a century before my GrandMother. His heart beated until 1883. Therefore , his "Brain", in other words , Ideas survived long after. The influence of his thought splitted the world, in a manner never seen before in history.
The so-called Marxism, has main pillars:
- THE WORK/VALUE THEORY and it's implications. This theory was derived, mainly, from the works of two great " classic" economists: Adam Smith and David Ricardo. Both of them were english speaking. They spread the idea that A GOOD HAS ITS VALUE DERIVED FROM THE AMOUNT OF HUMAN LABOUR NECESSARY TO THE COMPLETE PRODUCTION. THE SUM OF LABOUR OF ALL STEPS, TILL THE FINAL PRODUCT. This way of thinking influenced, a lot ,Marx. He lived as a refugee in London and could read the books and papers of these British economists.
This view of value and labour pushed Marx in the direction of interpreting any employed labour as a kind of exploitaion. The industrial revolution was changing the paradigms of production and consumption , specially in the United Kindom.
-THE DIALETIC INTERPRETATION OF HISTORY. The German philosopher Hegel impressed very much Marx , since his youth. Marx took part when he attended the University , to a group known as the " Hegelians". In very simplified view , the progression of History is interpreted as a conflict between the " status quo"( THESES) and another way of dealing with organization of society( ANTITHESES), leading to a new situation ( SINTHESES). Conflict is inevitable. The group(SOCIAL CLASS) who benefited most from the material conditions in a certain epoch struggles to keeps things as they are. In spite, another group of individuals( ANTAGONIST SOCIAL CLASS) tries hard to change the situation, improving its material conditions.
The individual itself thinks acconding to the class it belongs. There is little or no space for personal thinking or opinion without the background of a SOCIAL CLASS. Individual volition, thought or iniciative is "guided" unconsciously . Liberty becomes a mere chimera.
The philosopher Feuerbach influenced Marx in his atheism.
-THE ABOLITION OF THE PRIVATE PROPERTY OF MEANS OF PRODUCTION. For. Marxists there must be private property only of FINAL GOODS. Shoes, pants , houses may not be collective , BUT THE MACHINERY AND THE NATURAL RESOURCES MUST BE OWNED BY ALL HUMAN BEINGS . The STATE stands for the people but the decision are taken by a few.
Without any of them , there would be no actual Marxism.
When Mao Tse Tung died in 1976 , China began to be opened again.
When the Berlin Wall tumbled down , was as if half of Marx's Brain(" a Hemisphere") turned dead.
The Shangai Stock Exchange entered in full operative function,in 1992.
In a society that has inbetween its institutions a Stock Exchange, these "Pillars " may never exist. No matter what goverments claims. In fact , 1992 was the year Marx had his Brain completly , and maybe irreversibly DEAD.
